going up to Mt. Pilatus

Lake Lucerne
After 24 hours of flying with a 4 hour layover in Moscow ... we made it to Zurich. I was so tired but we still had to find our hotel which we made more complicated than it should have been. It was about 3 minutes from the airport but it was so nice to finally lay horizontal. The next morning, we had coffee in our room and we were on our way to Lucerne. We took the Swiss rail to Lucerne (Germans spell it Luzern) and met up with Bill, our Air Bnb host/Scottish bartender. My mom and I walked around the old cobble stoned city which eventually led us to the Lowendenkmal ( lion monument built in 1820). We walked across bridges like the Kappelbrucke (the oldest covered bridge in Europe) and saw beautiful castles. We had a picnic by the lake where we saw a lot of locals drinking their sparking apple juice and croissants. We fed some seeds to the Swans and left. The smaller alley ways led us to some expensive shops like Cartier, Patek Philippe and Rolex. We sampled local beers at the Rathous Brauerei and walked into the Hotel Falken for cheese and chocolate fondue! We met Christian who rocked our world. Jk he just told us to not drink milk with fondue. I shot a lot of footage for the blog and felt like a real Rick Steves! My mom loves her souvenirs so we looked around for a Cookoo clock as well as an engraved Swiss army knife (Victorinox). We were really jet lagged so I fell asleep around 8pm and woke up at 3am.
Today we had breakfast at Millefulier where we saw the cutest dachshund and I ate a traditional swiss breakfast called Bircher Muesil, it's like a sweet swiss oatmeal. We noticed how the little kids here are free to do whatever they want. One 3 year old little girl was riding her bike in the street and a bus was coming! No cares in the world. Then we took the Golden Round Trip to Aphnachstat-Pilatus Kulm. The trip was a boat ride on the Lake where my mom and I had some Rose and some really tasty Paprika chips. Then took a ride on the worlds steepest cogwheel railway to the Alps. This led us to the top of Mount Pilaus. My mom and I had some drinks which made me want to climb a little further up the mountain to a tip called Esel which is 6,953ft up. A bird pooped on me. Then we rode down the aerial cableway where we stopped off and had some fun on the topagaon! This part was so fun because the tobagon was so fast and I got to control the speed as well as pass by some huge cows with big bells around their neck. Now we're back in the apartment trying to figure out where we want to go next. Today is our last day in Lucerne so we have to do some thinking on if we want to stay in Switzerland or take a train to another country. Perhaps Austria? Maybe Milan? We'll see.
