Barcelona July 2018

Barcelona was like coming home. I took a quick two hour plane from London to Barcelona Prat airport and arrived extremely sad. I had just moved away from my boyfriend and I had no idea when I was to see him again. That uncertainty about long distance relationships is the hardest aspect to it. So of course, I'm sat on the plane next to the most affectionate, loving couple heading on a spontaneous trip for the mans birthday. I only teared up twice on the plane. Luckily,  the journey from the airport to my air-bnb in the neighborhood of Gracia was flawless. I was greeted by a lovely woman that showed me up the staircase. I was literarily exhausted at this point, emotionally and physically. But carrying up my suitcase to the third floor of this beautiful, old building made me fueled empowered and grateful. I was still upset at this point. I was showed around this beautiful apartment and met another young couple from Berlin. I thought my love luck was just wearing me down. I didn't ...

ALASKA

Image
Let me tell you about Alaska. My parents and brother Chase flew to Seattle where we met up with my other brother Connor at the airport. We spent the night at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel and had the day to explore a little bit of Seattle. I was there when I was nine for a wedding. I have some weird dreams about Seattle because I ruptured my spleen there. haha. I fell off a cliff with my bike! So the memories came back of Pike Place and the weather. It seems like the only thing I ever remember about a place is the weather. So the whole family was together and that part was lovely.  My brother Connor told us that he turned completely vegan so it was so funny watching him find something to order. Eventually, as the trip went on he switched back to eating meat. He went at it on the day the cruise had pork!! The hotel room was big but I still had to sleep next to my brother.  I think he hated it more than me. I went to bed at like 8pm in Seattle but my brother's both went out and ...

AMSTERDAM

HELLO!! Just a quick recap of what happened in Amsterdam. So, I was in Amsterdam a few weeks ago :( I'm going to cry now because I'm not there. That place is extremely underrated and has some pretty crazy stigmas. #redlight #weed. Yes, my brother and I did go to the Smoke Palace and yes we did purchase weed and yes we did smoke it. This blog isn't going to just be about the weed we smoked but it really was amazing. I fell in love with the dude behind the counter and I bought a sweatshirt that says Smoke Palace because he had the same sweatshirt. If you're reading this guy in Amsterdam... hi hehe, I'm single. We got to Amsterdam by train from Paris and it was pouring rain when we arrived but it still was such a beautiful day. No rain can bring us down. We checked into our hotel, which looked a lot like an Italian restaurant. We settled all our stuff into the closets and put our little toothbrushes in the bathroom and then I plugged my charger into the outlet. Then ...

Paris !

Image
Paris is a city of many strengths. For being there only a few days, it is easily recognizable to an outsider that the Parisienne way of life is unlike any other. The summer days were hot while I was there, reaching up to 100 degrees but we cooled off with fresh, cold, lemon water from a street vender. Yes, everything is ridiculously expensive  and American money is worthless in the city but I treated myself and my brother to a nicer hotel in Amsterdam because the air bnb in Paris didn't have air conditioning. The sickest part of Paris was the catacombs. The catacombs are underground ossuaries which hold the remains of over 6 million people. The underground pathways and tunnels were found in the 18th century when the city faced some problems in the infrastructure. I can't imagine going to fix a broken pipe and finding millions of skulls and femurs. The best night in Paris was on the 21st when the entire city was engulfed with music. Everyone was vibing to the music performed on ...

PRAGUE and a little of Paris

Image
So far we've spent the most time in Prague. Out of all the places I've been, I would have liked to see more it. There was the Old Town and the new city and both were fascinating . Our Air bnb was on Stephanska street which was about 2 miles away from St. Charles bridge. The street was busy and they had really good Indian and Chinese food. Of course on our first night we had traditional Czech food but it was very heavy and the a popular dish is boiled bread and braughworst. We mostly drank a beer because it was so cheap and picked up food whenever we wanted. The one thing that I wanted to do so badly but didn’t have enough time to book a reservation was the Beer Spa. You basically take a bath in beer as well as get a massage all while drinking! St. Charles bridge was a very famous bridge that we crossed about 3 or four times a day to get us from the old town to our air bnb. The bridge was packed with tourists, artists, beggars and statues but it was very beautiful early in the m...

Vienna (wein)

Image
We arrived around 11 pm on Sunday in Vienna. We checked into hotel Magdas. I chose this hotel in the city because I had read somewhere that this district of Vienna was a melting pot of culture. At one point, the hotel was a retirement home. This explained the extremely large rooms and weird layout. My mom and I had a double room that had 4 beds and a balcony.  We dropped our luggage off because we couldnt check in till 3pm so we ended up walking around the city for hours. We walked through the park then to the tram station that led us to the main part of the city which was two stops away. I filmed alot here because the architexture was gothic and the city was really big.  We walked around the beautiful park and met a frenchman that was just as lost as we were but still exploring the city. We tried the chocolate torte at the famous Hotel Sacher. It was delicious. We had lunch at Miznon on 1010 Wien, Schulerstr. I had an entire cooked cauliflower and a ratatouille pita. Absolut...

Leaving Switzerland, onto Vienna

On Friday, we took the 9:35 train out of Lucerne. :( We were heading for Salsburg but we bought a ticket that was 100 € cheaper and it took us back to Zurich ( Rated second in the best living cities in the world) then on a 4 hour bus ride to Munich and then finally a train to Salsburg. My mom and I agreed on never taking the cheaper ticket.  We spent a while looking out of windows that looked alot like Wisconsin (minus the mountains.  My mom  and I were down for the 10 minute walk to our hotel but I had to carry her backpack that made me look like a tortoise. So we off to the hotel, like a heard of turtles. Our hotel was called the Urban Stay Villa. The Italian/Pakistani restaurant next to us was super tempting. When the wind blows we can really get a nice wiff of some curry and garlic bread. We   were lucky enough to have arrived on a Friday when things were good.  It was around 10pm and the young and old  were out like it was midday.  Salsburg has ch...
